Religion and Dreams
If you are interested
in learning about any of these religions, this site provides you with
links to the sacred or holy text of each. By enriching your own belief
system and looking more closely at those of others, you can gain a greater
understanding of some of the universal archetypes and symbols occurring
in dreams. All of these texts mention the symbols that show up in dreams
in one way or another.
Many of these stories,
myths, and records were passed down from person to person by word of
mouth. They were remembered by regular repetition and in the form of
stories, poems, or songs. It was not until later periods that these
traditions were actually written down.
We as people have
come a long way from the time that spoken words were first used to the
time of the written word with the scribes, to the printing press, the
present Internet age of information transfer. We no longer have to sit
at a campfire and hear a story numerous times in hopes of recalling
every detail for the next generation, nor do we need to labor with a
writing device copying each symbol to precision preserving the text
of importance. The ability to learn is there for those who want to use
it.
The religions that
are included on this site are in no way the only religions that are
important. If all the religions that have existed were to be included
on this site, it would be hundreds of pages long. The religions listed
are known to have a standard set of scriptures for one to study. There
are several important religions and systems such as shamanism, animism,
Shinto, Bonism, Wicca, Sumer and atheism that have significant value
influencing not only the present day beliefs, but also many of the ancient
religions that have been systemized with scriptures.
If you notice any
inaccuracy of what is presented within your own religion or have some
helpful information to add, please write and it will be reviewed. The
idea is to get the information to people with accuracy and precision.
