Purpose
The purpose of
learnyourdreams is to encourage people to become aware of the dreaming
process and what it means to them. By learning this, doors are opened
to enriching one's own spiritual life and can help you have a cleaner
integrity. You will have the ability to share your dream in confidence
and not worry about exaggerating or hiding parts that are embarrassing
or shameful.
I will give you
possible meanings of the symbols and their relationships to one another.
It will be up to you to decide how to apply the possibilities of these
messages. This is not intended to be a replacement for psychotherapy,
counseling, self-analysis, or asking yourself what the symbols mean.
My feedback is also not to be viewed as absolute or ways of being that
are certain. The only one who can do that is you, if you believe in
certainty to begin with.
What I reveal to
you about your dreams is best looked at as tendencies, possibilities,
hints, or ideas that can inspire you to look more deeply into whatever
you desire. This leaves it open and unlimited. You are your own best
guide as well as your own worst enemy. Know your enemy and your guide
and the obstacles will become challenges that will transform into opportunities.
Why
I am doing this
There are many
things that have compelled me to do this work giving me reason to feel
right about providing this need to people. One is curiosity about human
nature and the dreams we have. Over the course of my life I have listened
to other's dreams and have found them to be fascinating. I eventually
began to give them intuitive guesses as to what the dream may mean.
Over the years I slowly collected information here and there about dreams
and related subjects.
Eventually I came
up with my own style of interpretation and philosophy. Part of it is
borrowed from many ideas of the old dream theories, some is from the
more modern day theories, and some of my own that I have integrated
into this system as a whole.
I have a strong
desire to help people learn of themselves and the world around them.
This learning goes far beyond dreams. Many cases, however, the exploration
easily starts with dreaming awareness. I see the need growing daily
everywhere. By doing this, I am filling a small fraction of a void.
There is plenty of room for others to do the same, it just takes a little
effort and desire to listen to others.
Often I ask people
to look within for a greater perspective on what it means than what
I can ever give. I encourage people not to rely on another to interpret
the dreams for them. This leads to an important piece of my core philosophy
on dream interpretation. We all have what it takes to decipher our own
dreams.
Dreams are given
to us freely and abundantly. Sometimes people get stuck or stumped on
the meaning behind something. This is when it is helpful to have another
individual or an outsider to the dreamer’s world give jump-starts
in decoding the puzzle. Once this is done and the dreamer is back on
track, it is best to continue looking within for information, going
to an outside source only when other options are exhausted.
Mission
Statement
All people
on the planet need to have the ability and means to learn ways of increasing
the quality of life.
I hope the information
provided on this site will be beneficial to all, and will be used for
the highest good possible. Whether you are a novice at the concept of
dreaming or a well seasoned, educated expert there will be something
here for you to learn from. By
understanding dreams more, we understand ourselves more. When we have
a greater sense of self-knowledge, the likely-hood of a greater compassion
for the self also increases which carries on to our relationships with
the people in our lives.
Learning archetypes
can help people understand other cultures by relating to the symbols,
knowing that they are what we all have in common with each other, the
universal symbolic dream language. It is possible that this language
can move us a step closer to world peace, in this generation of technology
especially. Those who will live hundreds of years from now will have
more of the road paved and the progress moves on.
The work had to
be started somewhere. Others continue large long-term projects that
are started by people who do not out live the projects as the years
pass. This is a way of laying the groundwork for a growing long-term
project that hopefully many will build and expand on. Everything is
seed to another.
